Establishing yourself on the Field Nation marketplace takes time. One of the most important steps is developing a compelling and searchable profile before you start requesting work so buyers can see that although you may be new to Field Nation, you are not new to the industry.
Below are some recommendations to help you showcase your skills and gets noticed.
To start, a strong profile has a professional-looking photo. Simply having a profile picture increases your likelihood of getting work by nearly 40%:
Next, include a brief introduction and high-level view of your strengths in the “About” section, so buyers can learn more about you and your experience:
Add all the “Types of Work” you know how to do now, then you can add more as you go:
As you complete work orders your "Work Summary" will update to show the number of jobs you’ve completed in each category and the average rating you received. You can also edit by using the pencil icon:
Similarly, entering your "Skillsets" is another great way to show off what you’re good at and help buyers find you through filters and work order qualifications to get matched with relevant work:
"Equipment" and skills go hand in hand, so providers that list their stock of tools and equipment are approximately 60% more likely to get work than those who leave this section blank. Include anything from a cable tester to a ladder to a laptop so buyers know you’re ready to work:
"Screenings" are important for some buyers who have requirements or end clients who require providers who have recently passed a background check or drug test. Screenings are not required to work on Field Nation, and if you take one and do not pass, the buyer will not be able to see and the failed screening will not show in your profile anywhere.
If you take a screening and do pass, you will get a badge on your profile and it will show the date that you passed:
The rest of the available profile sections are encouraged to fill out, if applicable:
- Licenses and certifications
- Employment history
- Education
This will give buyers more background and context as it relates to your experience before becoming a provider on Field Nation.
Check your profile to make sure you haven't accidentally left any of these sections blank!
