Hello everyone,
I wanted to start a thoughtful conversation about how we, as independent providers, can work together to strengthen the way we approach opportunities on Field Nation.
Respect and Professionalism
Every one of us comes from different backgrounds, levels of experience, and skill sets. What might be a great rate or opportunity for one provider could look different for another. Instead of judging or criticizing those decisions, we should respect that each professional is navigating their own unique circumstances. Maintaining professionalism not only improves the community but also sets a high standard for how buyers view providers on the platform.
Understanding Different Perspectives
When disagreements arise—whether about pricing, availability, or best practices—it helps to ask questions and seek understanding. For example, why might a technician accept a lower-paying work order? Maybe it’s a stepping stone for building reviews, or maybe it aligns with their local market conditions. By being curious instead of dismissive, we create a culture of support rather than division.
Organization and Constructive Feedback
If you’ve noticed challenges with certain types of work orders or processes, let’s talk about solutions. For instance, instead of saying “the pay is too low,” we can phrase it as: “I’ve found that projects with [X requirements] often need [Y resources]. Would buyers consider adjusting pay or expectations accordingly?” This way, we’re offering valuable insights without turning it into an unproductive rant.
Privacy and Boundaries
Let’s also remember to protect each other’s privacy and property. Avoid naming buyers, sharing personal info, or posting photos without permission. It ensures we stay safe and keep the focus on the issues rather than individuals.
Moving Forward Together
At the end of the day, we all share the same goal: to grow, succeed, and maintain steady opportunities. Respect, understanding, and constructive communication are the tools that make that possible.
I’d love to hear from others—what strategies have you found most helpful for maintaining professionalism while also advocating for fair pay and reasonable expectations?
Looking forward to your thoughts,
Elvin Wallace
